Photos from the central interior of British Columbia

Canadian Lynx (Lynx canadensis).  Photo taken about 100km south of Houston BC in June 2005.  A rare sighting and is in fact the only Lynx that I have seen in the field.  Oddly, students working with me the day this photo was taken saw another Lynx the next day over 75 km away.

Cinnamon coloured black bears (Ursus americanus).  Photos taken about 100km south of Houston BC in June 2005.  Black bears are common in the sub-boreal forests in this area but the cinnamon color is much less common.

A cerambycid beetle (probably Cosmosalia chrysocoma) on Oxe Eye Daisy.  Photo taken approximately 100 km north of Houston BC.

Detail of the wing of a Coma butterly.  Photo taken in spring of 2005 in Williams Lake.

Moffatt Falls.  These falls are approximately 10km south of Horsefly in the Cariboo. Sunset near McLeese Lake approximately 50km north of Williams Lake in the Cariboo.
